Tsagoi's (SAH-goy) world travels have given him wide exposure to many cultures, lifestyles, and philosophies. A life adventurer, he has often tested his own limits, both physically and mentally, in a quest to understand his own path and purpose. He holds a deep respect for the power of the story to preserve culture, communicate wisdom and values, and inspire excellence. Tsagoi combines his background as counselor with skills as a storyteller to select the most relevant stories or his audience.
Eighteen years of training and experience in the mental health field led him to discover the power of metaphor as a therapeutic and teaching tool. He has worked with a wide variety of people from addicted teens to vets who suffered from PTSD. Tsagoi always approached situations in a unique manner, and his methods consistently proved successful.
Seeking to expand his skills as a therapist Tsagoi pursued additional training and acquired certification as a Master Neurolinguistic Practitioner/Trainer (MNLP/Trainer) and a Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy. This, combined with storytelling and his wide range of life experiences, gives Tsagoi a formidable array of skills. Tsagoi’s odyssey continues as his love of learning brings new insights and more adventures.
Tsagoi’s stories flow effortlessly from "free child" to sage and back again. Stories range from hilarious to profound, heart touching to heart rending, adventure to mis-adventures, fantasy to philosophy, through underdog to top dog. Find out what he has in store for you!
"As
a therapist I found myself relying on metaphor and story more and
more often. I discovered power struggles were easily avoided. Clients
opened themselves and introspective processes clarified goals and
gave hope. Metaphor became my magic wand.
Story
has the power to open minds to new perspectives and insights, which
are the foundations for change.
The influence of a story becomes more powerful and more pronounced
over a period of time. It is like planting the seeds of introspection
and observation.
There’s nothing better than story to change boring facts into
a fascinating and stimulating learning experience. A well-told story,
whether for fun, healing or truth seeking, will always be effective."
